In July 2022, for the 250th Anniversary of the Red Anchor brand, United Cigars released 250 boxes of the Admiral. United Cigar purchased the trademark and rights of the red anchor brand and began developing the relaunch. Red Anchor is alive once more as United Cigar has partnered with the Kelner Family to blend the cigars. The Kelner familt has not only had a wonderful and impressive history of cigar making in the Dominican Republic, but their roots are from Holland where Red Anchor began. They will give Red Anchor the attention and respect it deserves, making them the perfect partner in this project. Working closely with Hendrik Kelner Jr. and the KBF team made this is a perfect marriage. What you should expect from the Red Anchor is a beautiful balanace of aged tobaccos that offer a medium/full-bodied experience. A combination of popcorn and cedar with rich espresso beans, sweet earth, barnyard, powdery cocoa, leather and sourdough bread, In addition, the retro hale features black pepper, with maple notes. Both the flavor and body are a medium, but the strength makes a more substantial jump to end at a point slightly above medium.
